MMA Seminar: Managing for Performance9/8/2010Join the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) on September 28 for a workshop in Wixom that will give your leaders and managers the tools they need to manage performance effectively and ensure top level performance by the entire team. Topics to be discussed include setting goals for departments and employees, how to motivate and monitor performance and the effective use of job descriptions and performance appraisals. Both Parties Announce Nominations9/3/2010Both the Michigan Democratic Party and Michigan Democratic Party recently announced their nominations for the following elected offices: Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Supreme Court Justice, State Board of Education and all of the University Education Boards. The Republicans held their state convention at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center on the campus of Michigan State University, while the Democrats held theirs at Cobo Center in Detroit. Bernero Picks Lawrence as Running Mate9/3/2010On 8/29/10, gubernatorial nominee Virg Bernero announced his selection of fellow mayor Brenda Lawrence, of Southfield, for lieutenant governor to complete the statewide Democratic ticket. Emmons Wins GOP Nomination for 33rd Senate District9/3/2010Former State Representative Judy Emmons was nominated as the Republican Party State Senate Candidate for the 33rd District to replace Brian Calley, who is now the lieutenant governor nominee running alongside Rick Snyder. The executive committees of Clinton, Ionia, Isabella and Montcalm Counties voted to select the nominee pursuant to Michigan Election Law. |
