Jennifer Spike serves as director of human resource policy, representing the interests of the manufacturing community in the areas of workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, wage and hour laws, MIOSHA, health care benefits, labor relations, equal employment opportunity, education and employment training.

Spike began her legislative career in April 1991. Prior to joining the Association, she worked inside the Michigan House of Representatives for 16 years. Recently, she served as Chief of Staff for House Minority Leader Craig DeRoche and as Legislative Director for the three previous Speakers of the House: Speaker Perricone, Speaker Johnson and Speaker DeRoche.

Spike is highly respected in the legislative arena. She was voted one of the most effective legislative staff members in a 2005 MIRS poll and received the Michigan Credit Union League State Legislative Staffer of the Year Award for 2004. Spike received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration from Michigan State University.
